During unimaginably difficult circumstances, Musicorps brings activity, accomplishment and joy. Service members describe benefits ranging from help with war-related trauma such as TBI (traumatic brain to injury) and PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) to simply being able to get on with their lives. In the words of SGT Levi Crawford, injured by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan, “Musicorps showed me that my injuries don’t have to hold me back from doing anything.” In the words of SGT Nicholas Firth, injured by a roadside bomb in Iraq, “this gives us a piece of us back.”
Faced with a new generation of wounded warrior, Musicorps is a new generation of program. We provide Musicorps because it is our honor and duty to provide these brave men and women with everything we can – and with everything that works – to help them heal.
