Scott Stapp
Artist Information
One of the most iconic voices in rock, SCOTT STAPP first emerged as the high-energy frontman of the GRAMMY, Billboard, and American Music Award-winning band CREED. Their anthems like “Higher,” “My Own Prison,” “My Sacrifice,” and “With Arms Wide Open,” sold over 53 million albums and accounts for over one billion streams on Spotify alone. Creed stands alongside iconic bands like Van Halen, Guns N’ Roses, and Metallica as one of a few hard rock outfits to earn RIAA Diamond-certified status for more than 11 million sales of Human Clay in the US.
As a solo artist, Stapp’s trademark lyricism and powerful delivery offers inspiration through unflinching examination of failures and success, overcoming and rebuilding. The Great Divide (2005) was certified Platinum for sales exceeding one million; Proof of Life (2013) and featured his first solo single to reach #1; The Space Between The Shadows (2019) debuted at #3 on the US Current Rock Albums chart and the US Current Hard Music Albums chart, as well as the UK Official Rock and Metal Chart. Stapp’s latest solo album, Higher Power debuted to rave reviews in March 2024 for its ferocious potency and seamless shifts from anthem to ballad as it traverses loss, anger, acceptance, release, and transformation. It broke at #23 on the Billboard Top Current Album Sales chart (all genres) and Luminate reported it at #2 (Current Hard Music Albums), #4 (Current Digital Albums), #5 (Record Label Independent Current Albums), and #3 (Current Rock Albums). The album features hit singles “Higher Power,” which reached #8 on the Mediabase Active Rock chart in March, while current single “Black Butterfly” has soared into the Top Twenty and continues to rise.
*Creed is Scott Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti, drummer Scott Phillips, and bassist Brian Marshall. Their debut album My Own Prison (1997) is one of the late 20th century’s biggest debuts. Sophomore album Human Clay (1999) and Weathered (2001) each entered the Billboard 200 chart at #1. Released after a hiatus, Full Circle (2009) bowed at #1 on the Top Rock, Hard Rock, and Alternative charts and #2 on the Billboard 200. After an eleven-year hiatus, Creed announced a reunion tour, resulting in immediate sell-outs and prompting the addition of arena dates through 2024.
