Nearly five months after the unspeakable tragedy endured by students, faculty and the families of The Covenant School, the Nashville community will come together for a special night of music to mark the beginning of a new chapter – and a new school year.
Hosted by longtime country music radio and broadcast personality Storme Warren, A Covenant Knight at the Grand Ole Opry House will take place August 7 at 7 p.m. CT and feature some of Nashville's biggest musical names in a two-hour evening of community support. Performers include Anne Wilson, Brandon Heath, Jason Aldean, Jeffrey Steele, Lee Brice, Maddie & Tae, Morgan Wallen, NEEDTOBREATHE, Old Dominion, Zach Williams and special guests. A Covenant Knight will honor those lost with the vision of a brighter future at one of Nashville’s most iconic venues.
The show is produced by two Covenant School parents and industry music veterans, Houston Phillips and Chad Schultz, along with Covenant Staff, in conjunction with Opry Entertainment Group.
All proceeds will go to The Covenant School Community Fund to continue mental health support for healing, ease the transition back into the building and equip the school for a safe, successful new year together. For those unable to attend the event, donations for The Covenant School are also being accepted HERE.
Following the August 7 show, A Covenant Knight at the Grand Ole Opry House will air for six consecutive nights on Circle Network, starting August 19. More information on the Circle broadcast will be released soon. All are encouraged to post about the benefit using the hashtag #COVENANTSTRONG.
On March 27, 2023, six innocent victims lost their lives in a horrific tragedy at Nashville’s The Covenant School – three students and three staff members. Countless more have been forever changed by the event, but the community has not allowed those suffering to do so alone.
As an organization, The Covenant School is especially appreciative of the outpouring of support received from around the nation and beyond, and tremendously grateful to the first responders who acted quickly to protect students, faculty and staff.
The Covenant School remains focused on loving their students, families, faculty and staff, and to beginning the process of healing while prioritizing the wellbeing of the community. Together with performers, supporters and more, A Covenant Knight at the Grand Ole Opry House will help the organization continue their mission of preparing young Covenant Knights for the modern world with a strong foundation in Christian faith, while never forgetting those lost.
