In honor of his induction taking place in the Opry's famous wooden Circle, take a look back at some of his greatest moments on country music’s biggest stage, so far:

Scotty Debuts at the Opry on June 10, 2011

Hot off winning Season 10 of American Idol, Scotty McCreery performed in the Circle for the first time the same night as runner-up and now-Opry Member Lauren Alaina. He performed his debut single “I Love You This Big,” which debuted at 32 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Paying Tribute to Conway Twitty with “Hello Darlin’”

If you were in the Opry audience on September 19, 2015, you can’t forget Scotty’s heartfelt tribute to the late Conway Twitty. He left the crowd in awe after performing the classic hit “Hello Darlin’.”  After all, nobody does that traditional country sound like Scotty.

Playing “Five More Minutes” for the First Time

According to him, Scotty’s favorite Opry moment was the debut performance of the 2017 hit “Five More Minutes,” played during his June 2016 performance at the CMA Music Festival. After its release, the song became his first of six consecutive number one singles, and even inspired a Hallmark Movie of the same name.

Christmas with The King of Rock and Roll – Scotty Style

Scotty McCreery has performed many classic hits at the Opry over the years, including Christmas songs in his signature classic country style.

In December 2020, Scotty got the crowd in the holiday spirit with his version of Elvis Presley’s “Santa Claus is Back in Town.”

Scotty Gets Invited to Join the Opry by Garth Brooks

During his 2023 Christmas performance, Garth Brooks appeared on stage to present Scotty the biggest present of all: an invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry. Crediting Garth Brooks as one of the inspirations for his career, Scotty got choked up accepting the honor.

Scotty embodies the spirit of the Opry with each performance and will soon join his fellow American Idol alum Lauren Alaina in the most illustrious family in country music. Be part of his induction night on April 20, and check back for more about one of our favorite breakout stars.
